17-Year-Old Sells Summly Mobile App to Yahoo for $30 Million

British coder Nick D’Aloisio, was more than happy to sell his mobile news aggregation app, Summly to Yahoo for the sum of around $30 million. D’Aloisio started coding Summly at the age of 15 and aimed to provide an app that scanned the internet for news stories by using an algorithm to find the type of content you would want to read and summarizes it.

Summly the app will be shut down and Yahoo is going to incorporate the Summly code into its own mobile apps and sites. Yahoo said, “We’re excited to share that we’re acquiring Summly, a mobile product company founded with a vision to simplify the way we get information, making it faster, easier and more concise.”
